Weightlifting

Dr. Adam Storey

Coach for the NZ Weightlifting Team

The sport of Olympic weightlifting is high-intensity and explosive in nature and it demands a great deal of focus and self-belief from its athletes. Since 2014 Dave has worked with a number of my lifters, including Tracey Lambrechs, the 2014 Commonwealth Games Bronze medalist (75kg+ class). Dave is greatly in tune with the needs of strength and power athletes and he enabled Tracey to break through a number of mental barriers throughout the course of her medal winning campaign.

David has had a big influence in making me in to an athlete with the full package. Before David, I was physically and technically strong, a few sessions later and I can now add mentally strong to the list!

My life and sport is better for knowing him”

David helped me  in my build up to the 2014 Commonwealth Games, we worked on my focus at training and in competition. As in most Sports your mental performance plays a huge part and in our sport it can mean the difference between getting a lift and missing, he  armed me with the tools to be able to perform at my full potential and to set clear goals.
